"Puri's new mantra for proposing love"

Usually, Lovers go down on their knees to propose and many directors followed it, but Puri breaks the ;pattern and makes his hero to seek a lip-lock to exhibiit his love for his ladylove in Heart Attack. Instead of flooring her with flowers and gifts. How strong and intimate our kiss is would be directly proportionate to the love we have for each other, was the refrain for lover boy Nitin.

No doubt, its a new mantra for lovers which breaks the conventional love expressions. But how girls would react, if such proposal in put up in real-life, or they will not mind. Only time will tell, but on-screen its a 'new-wave' idea.

Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda Movie Review:
PPT: Pitch-perfect comedy Timing!
Pandavalu Pandavalu Thummeda (PPT), touted as Manchu clan's multi-starrer, has garnered great buzz ever since it hit the floors. The movie marks the comeback of veteran actor Mohan Babu in a lead role, nearly after a decade. It also showcases Manchu Manoj in a never-before-seen role Mohini (draped in a sari). Director Dasari Narayana Rao donned grease paint after a while for a hilarious cameo. All these aspects created enough hype around the film. Let's sneak into the film to see how far they fetched!

Plot: Crisply, the movie is all about Naidu's (Mohan Babu) family and his five "orphan" sons Pandavalu- Vijju (Vishnu), Ajay (Manoj), Varun Sandesh and (Lucky) Tanish.

Mohan Babu (Naidu) is a foster, doting father to Manoj, Varun Sandesh and Tanish whereas Raveena is foster, caring mother to Vishnu and Vennela Kishore. With a sudden turn of events, both the two single families club to form a large family. Like any other family, it too goes through its rough phase. Yet, they brushes off their differences soon and gets united. Thanks to Honey (Hansika) who played pivotal role in family's union. Hansika has a troublesome background that pushes her into neck-deep difficulties. How Naidu's family steps in to save the girl (Honey)? What are the hurdles that come in between form the film.

Performances: The film's stellar cast-Mohan Babu, Vishnu, Manoj, Raveena Tandon, Hansika, Pranitha- is the big asset for the film. Of course, their pitch-perfect performances carry of the film totally. For Mohan Babu, Vishnu and Manoj essaying these characters is like a piece of cake. Everyone fit the bill and gave their best performances. After a longtime, one could watch Mohan Babu flexing his muscle and doing a jig. Yes, he enthralls us with his trademark acts and dialogue-delivery.

Vishnu is natural at his acting and does his best. One could watch the most stylish Vishnu as a gambler in the film. Vishnu's chemistry with Hansika worked out well and does magic again. Perhaps, it's a record that Vishnu-Hansika scored three hits in a row.

Manchu Manoj, who showcases myriad variations in his character, deserve a pat on his back. Especially, his lady getup Mohini steals the show. Manoj, who did it with so ease, bags extra brownie points. Pranitha's glam show, Brahmanandam's humour touch are icing on the cake.

Direction: Director Srivas has hit a jackpot with this out-and-out entertainer. With a good star cast , it's a cake walk for Srivas.

Music: Music by Baba Sehgal, Achu and Keeravani is soothing and easy on ears. Lyrics are equally good.

Technical aspects: Songs, scenes shot against picturesque foreign locales (Bangkok) are visual treat.

Analysis:  After Denikaina Ready and Doosukeltha, Manchu Vishnu has clocked a hat-trick hit. The film is totally engaging and funny. Director and writers tactically got the nerve of Telugu audiences- the film tickles your funny bone to the hilt. After all, that's what common audience expect.

If director could have avoided few cliches, minor editing errors and predictable twists, the movie could have become a classic comedy.

On whole, the movie is a breathe of fresh air with right doses of comedy, sentiment, romance, action. But the only disappointment for Manchu fans is they will sure miss Manchu Lakshmi. Wish, director Srivas should have penned a well-conceive role for Lakshmi.

Bottom line: The film has all the elements to satiate your hunger. Watching PPT (Pandavalu Pandavalu Tummeda) is treating yourself as it gives you a new experience altogether.

Pic Talk: Naga Chaitanya with his lover

An interesting picture is doing rounds in media from Thursday evening. In fact, the pic features handsome lad Naga Chaitanya striking for a pose with a beautiful lass. Many wonder who that girl is, and she is nothing but his latest lover, a Miss Universe runner up.

Her name is Pooja Hegde and she is playing his lover in the upcoming movie being directed by Vijaykumar Konda of 'Gundejaari Gallantayyinde' fame. It is heard that Vijay's script that was rejected by Allu Arjun is right now in Chaitu's lap and the youngster is confident of this flick projecting him as the best romantic hero in Tollywood. After all, his dad is a specialist when it comes to romance, so no doubts about the son anyway!

Aishwarya Rai with Nag, Mahesh Babu!

Aishwarya Rai, who has been taking a break from acting post birth of Aaradhya Bachchan, is all set to make a comeback. But the news is that she is making a bigger, grand reentry. Buzz is that Aishwarya is going to join with a Mani Ratnam film. Rumour mill says that Aishwarya has been signed for Mani Ratnam's next.

Interestingly, the movie stars Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu in pivotal roles, say reports. Talk is that Aishwarya would pair up with Nagarjuna in the film. However, the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu is not yet finalized. Strangely, Mani hasn't cast Abhishek Bachchan who earlier teamed up with him in Guru and Raavan, as the proposed project is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. The yet-to-be-titled film is rumoured to be adaptation of classic Tamil novel Ponniyin Selvan. However, Mani Ratnam hasn't revealed whether this is a new story or adaptation of the proposed novel. Considering that Nagarjuna's previous combination with Mani Ratnam, Geetanjali, is a classic and this is first time combo with Mahesh Babu, expectations on this film are way too high even before a formal announcement.

Currently in pre-production phase, the proposed movie is expected to roll on from September or October. If all goes well, Telugu audiences could watch Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna and Aishwarya Rai in single frame. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.

Mahesh to repeat Dookudu, Businessman feat

Mahesh Babu's current film Aagadu shoot is going on at a brisk pace. This film is expected to release in August or September. The makers are aiming for the season that has helped Dookudu to be a blockbuster. Mahesh will be doing a quickie right after completing Aagadu.

Puri Jagannadh will direct Mahesh Babu's next and it will be completed in a flash. It will release for Pongal if everything falls in place. So Mahesh will be repeating Dookudu, Businessman feat again, which were released within a gap of four months. Puri has narrated a single line story to Mahesh to which the Superstar has waved green.

Meanwhile Maniratnam's multi-starrer movie is still on although Mahesh didn't announce about it officially. This film is expected to be launched in July. There is no clarity over Mahesh's film under Koratala Shiva's direction. It may go to sets after Puri's film, say sources.

Mahesh and Jr NTR clashing for 'third' time

Superstar Mahesh and young tiger NTR are both wounded heavily with their last flicks at box office. These heroes are now waiting for time to pounce on ticket counters again and showcase their strength. Maybe they both have to clash with each other in this process.

Tentative release dates for both Aagadu and Rabhasa are fixed for May month only. Jr NTR is contemplating to hit on May 9th, while Mahesh wants to sizzle on silver screen on Krishna's birthday even on May 31st. whatever it is, the clash between Mahesh and Jr NTR at around same time is what keeping fans fingers crossed. Earlier, they clashed with Khaleja and Brindavanam, and Jr NTR stood winner that time. Later Mahesh gave a fitting reply with Dookudu, while Junior's Oosaravelli limped. So for the third time, Mahesh and NTR are locking horns and the result is what fans are excited about.

Aagadu is being directed by Srinu Vytla and features Tamanna, Prakash Raj and Rajendra Prasad alongside Mahesh. Santosh Srinivas is making Rabhasa with Jr NTR, Samantha and Praneetha in the leads. Both the films have music scored by Thaman.

NTR locks on Megastar's lucky date

When is Jr. NTR's Rabhasa going to hit the screens? Earlier it was announced that this film will release on March 28, the day on which Aadi was released. But due to rescheduling this film is now pushed to May. As per film sources, Rabhasa will release on May 9th, the date that has turned out to be super lucky for Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Two of Chiranjeevi's biggest hits were released on May 9th. Jagadeka Veerudu Atiloka Sundari and Gang Leader turned out to be monstrous hits and released on the same date in consecutive years. Gabbar Singh was actually slated for May 9th release, but it came on May 11th. Pawan Kalyan planned to release Gabbar Singh 2 on May 9th this year, but that film's shoot has been delayed.

So NTR is coming on this mega date and if this proves to be lucky for him, we will get to see that long pending blockbuster from the Young Tiger. Rabhasa is carrying positive reports among the industry circles. It is shaping up so well that it will have everything that summer audience expect from a big star's film, sources told.

I want 'Manam' to be a befitting send-off to my father

Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna says he wants "Manam", last film of his late father Telugu movie icon Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who was more than just a father to him, to be a befitting farewell.

Rao passed away Jan 22 due to intestinal cancer. He was 89-years old. "I want his last film 'Manam' to be a befitting send-off to a man who was much more than just a father to me. He was on the sets of the film when he collapsed (last year). When they opened him up he was in the fifth stage of cancer.

Until then he was in the pink of health," read a post from Nagarjuna on his official Facebook page. Nageswara Rao had completed all the shooting but for one song. "The film spans a period from 1920 to 2013. My father plays a 90-year old. Except that incomplete song he completed all the shooting," he posted.

"Fifteen days after surgery he was at home in bed when he said, 'Bring all the dubbing equipment and do my dubbing for 'Manam' before I get worse, or you will get a mimicry artiste to do my dubbing. He made sure we he completed the film.

It's now being released on March 31st," Nagarjuna further posted. Directed by Vikram Kumar, "Manam" also features Nagarjuna and his son Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. It's the first time actors from three generations of Akkineni clan worked together.

Sumanth Owns ANR's Big Property?

The recent demise of Akkineni Nageswara Rao has left a vacuum in many hearts and especially in his family. And now the time has come to talk about some practical issues post his death. Well, the talk has been making rounds in filmnagar about ANR’s huge empire and how he must have shared it.

Well, according to insiders, a big part of ANR’s property has gone to actor Sumanth, his grandson. We are talking about the ANR Trade Centre next to TSR’s home in Banjara Hills. Earlier, this was the residence of ANR but later on, it became a commercial complex. From long time there is a talk that Sumanth is the owner.

Now after ANR’s demise the truth is that it is indeed Sumanth’s property.  Sources say ANR had major affinity towards Sumanth and his sister Supriya. The thespian brought them up from childhood so in properties also he worked out a lot for them.

Incidentally, Sumanth-Supriya lost their mother during their early years. Though Sumanth is a grandson, ANR was reportedly affectionate towards him like a son and same with Supriya.

Confirmation call for Balayya's 'Legend'

Recently wrapped up Sankranthi season is a big disappointment for Nandmuri fans as Boyapati Sreenu failed to keep his promise. But here comes the big news from the lion's den about his forthcoming project.

Taking a big gap since the release of his last movie 'Srimannarayana', Nandamuri Balakrishna is all set to enthral fans with 'Legend'. Touted to be an action entertainer in a political backdrop, mass movie specialist Boyapati Sreenu is directing the flick. In fact, teaser of this movie is expected to hit theatres along with '1 Nenokkadine' as both movies are produced by 14 reels only. But the teaser never made it to theatres and here comes the latest 'confirmation' call about 'Legend' featuring Balayya, Radhika Apte and Sonal Chauhan.

Close sources inside 14 reels office revealed that 'Legend' will hit screens either in last week of March or first week of April. As of now, the makers are planning for a safe date as they want Balayya's flick to have a solo release and make big money. That's the news folks!

'Heart Attack' Team Happy For 'A' Certificate

There are many instances wherein the Tollywood folks clashed with the censor board whenever their films got an A certificate. They have their own business calculations behind that. But here is one team who is reportedly quite happy after getting ‘A’ certificate. We are talking about the film ‘Heart Attack’ and its unit.

This is directed and produced by Puri Jagannadh. Generally Puri’s films tend to attract 18 plus audience and even the flavor of his films is somewhat rebellious. Though ‘Heart Attack’ is an A certificate flick, the crowds cannot be stopped from entering the theatres unless some major political pressure is applied.

Ideally it is the duty of the cops to ensure minors are not allowed inside theatres once the film gets an ‘A’ certificate but they have more important things to take care of. On the other hand, Puri doesn’t have any rivalries or enmities that someone should try to stop his movie. Moreover, it attracts the youth to see the film as they would be curious to know why the film got an ‘A’. Let us see how all this contributes at the box office.

Puri Makes Good Money

Puri-Nitin film Heart Attack has generated enough curiosity in the market. Surprisingly, the buyers are more interested in the film due to Nithin, more than Puri’s association.

In fact, many buyers are scared due to the track record of Puri in the past few years. On the other hand, given the craze that Nithin has in the market, many buyers are willing to invest money on him.

Recently, the film’s satellite rights have been given away at a good price. Gemini channel shelled out Rs 4.5 crore for the rights. The rate is the best that any Nithin’s film could make till date.

Above all, Puri too has been doing good business. Heart Attack happens to be his home production and he has found ways to successfully make good money. Now, if the buyers too make good money from the film, then it’s a win-win situation for all

Why Late recognition for Kamal Haasan?

It's common fact by now that versatile actor-director-producer-screen writer-singer-lyric writer Kamal Haasan has been conferred with Padma Bhushan for the year 2014. Although, it's time for Kamal Haasan's fans to cheer and celebrate this landmark moment, most of them are grumbling over the late recognition their favourite star got. And to an extent, there is a valid point for them to get disappointed.

Kamal Haasan made his acting debut as a child artiste at the age of four years. Yes, it's splashy debut as he walked away with President's Gold Medal for his very first performance on screen in Kalathur Kannamma. That's just beginning and he never looked back since then. He played diverse yet versatile roles. He didn't confine himself to acting and he proved his mettle in screen-writing, direction, production and what not? He excelled in film-making in every respect. He did get Padma Shri in 1990.

It's not exaggerated to say that Kamal is one of the best actors from India. In fact, his peer Rajinikanth has admitted this fact a lot of times. It's not just Rajinikanth alone who praised Kamal. Steven Spielberg were all praises for Kamal during his last visit to India. Academy award winning director Ang Lee went a step ahead and said he was stunned by Kamal Haasan's brilliance. Many film experts refer Kamal as Walking Encyclopedia.

Yet, one thing has upset film lovers and Kamal's fans. The probable reason for Kamal's fans to get disappointed: Rajinikanth got the same award in 2000, 14 years before Kamal bestowed with Padma Bhushan. In between, Kamal's another peer Chiranjeevi too awarded Padma Bhushan in 2006 when strong rumours surfaced that he would join politics. And he did in 2008 by floating Praja Rajyam Party and merged it with Congress.

Naturally, the common question arises is why did it take 14-long-years for Union Government to recognise prowess of Kamal Haasan? Kamal Haasan has got four National Awards, two Filmfare Awards and record 17 Filmfare Awards in south (no other actor surpassed this record in South India. Chiranjeevi is 10-time winner of Filmfare Awards South). There is an adage: Justice delayed is Justice denied. And perhaps, the same applies to Awards as well. That's saddened Kamal's fans. Whatever, the 59-year-old acting legend take all these awards in same stride. That's Kamal Haasan for you folks!

'Minugurulu' Review: Heart Touching

Banner: Respect Creations
Cast: Ashish Vidyarthi, Suhasini, Raghuveer Yadav, Jayavani, Deepak Saroj and others
Music: Rajasekhar Sarma
Cinematographer: David Puller
Editor: Ganti Kiran
Director: Ayodhya Kumar Krishnamsetty
Producer: Ayodhya Kumar Krishnamsetty
Release date: 24/01/2014

A new wave of filmmakers with radical thoughts is pushing their way into a commercial Tollywood. Here is one such attempt so let us see if it is really worth or not.
Story
A residential school for the blind near Vizag is in a dilapidated condition and the reason for that is the caretaker (Ashish) who spends the government funds in betting and loses it. Then a new resident Raju (Deepak) comes, after losing his vision due to an accident. He intimates the authorities about the situation but in vain. Then he comes up with a plan along with the other blind kids to deal with this issue. What does he do and where it leads forms the rest.
Performances
Ashish Vidyarthi was there throughout the film and given his experience, this role was a cakewalk for him. He did his bit and scored well.
Deepak Saroj was confident enough and he was able to justify the character. Though he got stiff in few scenes, overall he did a good job.
Suhasini played a guest role but made her presence felt, Raghuveer Yadav was excellent, Jayavani was effective. The other students gave a natural act and were engaging.

Highlights
  • Concept
  • Emotion
  • Realism
Drawbacks
  • Pace
  • Offbeat flavor
Analysis
From a long time, there are those who criticize Tollywood to be an industry which is totally commercial and focuses only on glamour and masala potboilers.
It is true to an extent but it doesn’t mean there are not filmmakers who don’t believe in passion for the craft and coming up with offbeat storylines that add value to the society and spread a message through this medium.
Perhaps this film can be counted as one such effort which will prove those perceptions to be wrong. Despite the fact that most of the team including the cast are amateurs, the basic intent of the film is commendable. It is never an easy task to delve into the world of a person who is blind and see the world from his/her eyes.
The efforts put in that angle are really praiseworthy. As such, this does give the feel of a Docu-drama but given the subject and the purpose behind it, the director showed sensibility in adding subtle humor and emotion in his own way.
Entire film runs on straight narration instilling realistic scenes those some look gross.
The second half gets into a serious mode with many emotionally heart squeezing moments. Climax was absorbing.
This cannot be counted as a mainstream flick but it would create enough impact to those who seek realistic cinema and to those who say Tollywood doesn’t have offbeat filmmakers with value added ideas and storylines.
Bottomline: Insightful, worth a watch

Rajamouli's Beard Is The Calendar For 'Bahubali'

Whenever director S S Rajamouli helms a project one can be rest assured that he takes his own sweet time to shape it up and get it to the theatres. But the end result at the box office has always been smashing because this tough taskmaster ensures that every minute detail is taken care of. Now, the filmnagar folks have come up with a new concept to determine how much time Rajamouli’s film will take.

This is on the basis of the growth of his beard. Apparently, Rajamouli is busy with the shooting of his new movie ‘Bahubali’ and the beard is growing consistently. Speculations are on whether by the time the movie gets over will it touch Rajamouli’s chest or tummy. It is heard that he will not remove his beard till the film gets completed. So, that has become the calendar for the movie. The film also has Prabhas and Daggubati Rana in the lead who are growing their share of beards for their roles.

First Look: Mass Raja's 'Power'

We have already seen a powerful cop Vikram Rathod in Vikramarkudu. Imagine what happens if that dominant cop is mixed with a tinge of Gabbar Singh style. There comes powerful 'Power'.

Mass Raja Raviteja's upcoming movie is titled 'Power' and the first look poster is released today to enthral fans. Actually this is the first title earlier thought for the movie 'Nippu' and then for 'Balupu', but later both the movies opted out. Anyhow, Ravi got back to his favourite title 'Power' and the way he poses on his Royal Enfield bike is simply a stunner. His shabby beard and terrific khaki uniform are upping excitement levels.

'Power' is directed by writer KS Ravindra alias Bobby and produced by Rockline Venkatesh. Our hero is expecting to repeat the success streak he scored with 'Balupu' with 'Power' such that his limping market will get revived. For now, this look is amazing, so let us wait for teaser folks!

Nagarjuna's tear drops and smiles

What legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao taught to his family members and well wishers is to stay composed even during the worst situations of life. That is what he has done during his crisis day. And reflecting father's ideologies, King Nagarjuna did the same yesterday.

Various celebs, politicians and relatives have paid homage to Akkineni's dead body that was kept for visiting at Annapurna Studios premises the other day. At times, Nagarjuna was seen smiling and inviting various celebs to garland his father's physical body. At times, he was seen broking down into tears when some close celebs hugged him. It took time for our celebs to console him and bring him back into normal state.

Nagarjuna's tear drops and smiles are examples of what his father taught him. Because he has learnt to handle the toughest situation of life quite well, and at the same time he gave preference to emotional quotient. On a whole, Nagarjuna played perfect role in real life, like father like son.

Legendary Akkineni No More!!!

Legendary actor and producer Akkineni Nageswara Rao finally left the whole of Telugu people in permanent distress. He succumbed to cancer, casting clouds of sorrow over Telugu film industry. The 90 year old actor himself announced last year October about his cancer and expressed confidence that it will not spread fast during old age. But fate got something else in store for the Akkineni legend and it has finally spread its claws and spit its venom to take him away from this world.

Born on 20th September 1923, Akkineni started his life in paddy fields and strode into theatre, then into movies and carved a name for himself in golden letters across the history of Tollywood. His 75 year old cinema career started in 1941, at the age of 17, when he made his debut with Telugu film 'Dharmapatni'. ANR married Annapurna in 1953, after whom his production house and studio is named, and the couple have five children. She breathed her last in 2011, leaving the legendary actor much depressed. Their children include Venkat, Nagarjuna, Satyavathi, Naga Suseela and Saroja.

Akkineni is a cinema library who starred in 250+ movies till date in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, while 'Manam' is his last flick. There is no question of any role he hasn't played in his illustrious career. A prince, lover boy, depressed lover, government servant, soldier, holy saint and any mythological role, ANR excelled with ease and proved that there is no second best to him. Art lovers and critics love Nageswara Rao because he played on-screen roles of cultural icons of different regions of India. Literally, Akkineni is the one who first initiated Telugu cinema industry to move to Hyderabad from Madras, thus creating separate identity for Telugu movies. He happens to be the torch-bearer of new age Telugu cinema.

Awards are not a big thing before this legacy he achieved, but yes they should be mentioned. He is the recipient of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. ANR won prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1991, and also won 4 Filmfares, 2 Nandi awards, 2 Nandi special honours, and Kalaimamani (Tamilnadu), Kalidasu (Malayalam) state awards.

While revealing about his cancer earlier, ANR said 'Life is funny, now comes a twist'. His death is the permanent twist the actor has given to every cinema lover anyway. Deepest condolences to his family and every fan who will miss him forever. May his soul rest in peace!!!

Nag's Fears On Akkineni Akhil?

The time is fast approaching for another star kid to enter Tollywood. This time, it is from Akkineni family and the boy is Akhil, son of Nagarjuna and Amala. As part of that, it is heard Nagarjuna is having his fears on his boy’s debut. Recently, Nag admitted in an interview that he did a big mistake by not showing proper attention on his other son Naga Chaitanya’s debut.

Now, sources from Annapurna Studios reveal Nag is bent upon not repeating such a mistake. As part of that, it is heard that Deva Katta has been chosen as the director for Akhil’s debut. Buzz is that Nag told Deva Katta to narrate his story to Trivikram Srinivas and if that is approved they can go ahead.

Trivikram reportedly liked the story and gave the green signal. Sources say Nag assigned the task of dialogues, screenplay to Trivikram and he agreed. All this goes to show that Nag is taking special care for Akhil’s arrival. While he is doing his best to ensure Akhil’s debut would be grand and well, there are those who are commenting as to why he showed so much neglect when Chaitu was arriving.

Why Ram Charan & NTR delaying?

It can be said that though Jr NTR is senior than Allu Arjun and Bunny is senior than Ram Charan in terms of their tenure as heroes, all three of them are put on the same table in terms of comparison.

Recently a new discussion happened in the filmnagar club between two directors regarding the trio. News is that Bunny is all set to become a proud father and the point was why Charan and Junior are delaying that.

Well, the logic goes that once a young hero becomes a father, the stardom begins to dip down because youth tend to rate him as a grown up man than a youngster.

However, the other director stated that there is no logic like that and quoted the examples of many who are married with kids but enjoyed stardom for a long time.

Anyhow, this is the personal matter of Junior and Ram Charan so better to keep away from all such topics and let both of them plan their family as per their convenience.

Prabhas To Marry Bheemavaram Girl?

It might break many hearts but Tollywood hunk Prabhas will tie the knot in 2015. Yes, it is a year away, but his family has decided that his marriage will coincide with the release of Baahubali. Had the film not been in the making, Prabhas would have been married by now.

His uncle Krishnam Raju has decided to take the matters into his hands and announced that Prabhas will be married in 2015. It is being hotly discussed that a search is on for a good girl from Bheemavaram. Industry insiders say a girl has been finalized too.

Though he was linked up with an actress earlier, Prabhas will tow his family’s wishes and marry the traditional way. Now, if everything works out fine, in 2015, we will get to watch Baahubali and Prabhas’s wedding. We can watch out for yet another big, fat, Tollywood wedding!

Surprise, Mahesh Babu not approached yet!

We have been hearing reports about Mahesh Babu doing a film under Mani Ratnam's direction. Media reports read that this film is a multi-starrer in which Nagarjuna is playing an important character. However, Mahesh Babu made it clear that no one has approached him regarding this.

Speaking to a daily Mahesh said that he too 'heard' about the news of Mani Ratnam's multistarrer. He didn't express his willingness to do the film, but said that he is currently concentrating 'only' on Aagadu. With this it is clear that Maniratnam is yet to approach Mahesh for his ambitious project.

News about Mani Ratnam, Mahesh Babu's film surfaced in media in the past too. But that didn't materialize. This film can surely grab eyeballs if it really happens. Mahesh is currently focusing to get back on track after the setback of 1 Nenokkadine.

Trade report: Charan scores over Mahesh

Sankranthi season is over and we have a clear winner in Yevadu. Despite releasing with low expectations compared to 1 Nenokkadine and in less theaters, Yevadu managed to overtake the former in first week. Nenokkadine managed to collect a share of Rs. 25 crore worldwide in its first week. Yevadu got 36.5 crores plus first week share worldwide taking it to the second spot in all time best openers.

Attarintiki Daredi is sitting high and firm at the top place with a first week share of Rs. 48 crore. Yevadu would have reached Rs. 40 crore mark if it was released in more theaters. Despite releasing in less number of theaters compared to recent biggies took the box office by storm. 1 Nenokkadine has to collect Rs. 58 crore from the theatricals to breakeven and it looks impossible from this point.

Yevadu on the other hand has high chances to make it to Rs. 50 crore club. We have to wait and see how this film holds in the second week especially in the week days. There are no new releases in this week and audience are left with only Pongal films.
