Chandi released on Friday and it is creating a havoc among the audience.  Both Priyamani and director Samudra had high hopes from the film. Priyamani hoped that she will end up being on par with the likes of Anushka with the film.  

The producers too shelled out many lakhs in remuneration to Priyamani banking on her talent.  It is being said that Priyamani received the highest remuneration of her career with Chandi.  

If rumours are to be believed, she was given Rs 80 lakh. While it may not sound huge for a top-ranking actress, it is high considering that Priyamani gets less Rs 20 lakhs for a film.  

So, if you do the math, then she has got four times her usual remuneration.  Well, though it might be a loss for the producer, she ended up being lucky. No wonder that she intends to do more women-oriented roles in days to come.
