Well the much awaited Akkineni's Manam is all set to hit the screens on May 23. There is a curiosity among fans, movie buffs as it is touted as the last film of legendary ANR. Here comes the latest update about the film.
Going by highly reliable sources, Manam is not just a family entertainer. It does have a lot of emotions, sentiments, fun and thrilling moments with a feel-good touch. Buzz is that Manam is periodical film set in between 1920 to 2013 and revolves around Rebirth concept (Punarjanma). This information is certainly enticing Akkineni fans and provoking them to go berserk over the film. Considering that Vikram Kumar's debut film Ishq had a successful run at Box Office, fans are hoping that his magic work again. While Samantha is pairing up with Chaitanya for third time, Shriya Saran is seen opposite Nagarjuna.

Akkineni multistarrer Manam is scheduled to hit the theaters on May 23, 2014. However the audio is not yet released and the fans were worried about it. It has been reported that Manam audio will be directly released into the market from May 9, 2014. Anup Rubens has composed the music and recently released promo song received appreciation from the movie lovers. For the first and last time, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya will be sharing the screen space in Manam. Samantha and Shriya Sharan are the leading ladies while Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan will appear in a guest role. 'Ishq' fame Vikram Kumar is directing the film and Nagarjuna himself is producing Manam under Annapurna Studios banner in collaboration with Reliance Entertainments.

It's almost official. Our reliable sources confirmed the much anticipated debut of Sisindhri Akhil Akkineni, doting son of Akkineni Nagarjuna and Amala. Going by highly-placed sources, Akhil is going to sizzle on silver screen for the first time in none other than Akkineni's family film Manam.
Although earlier rumours had popped up that Akhil is debuting with Manam, Nagarjuna denied them publicly. But latest buzz is that post the death of ANR, Nag apparently has change of mind. It is learnt that director Vikram Kumar, of Ishq fame, has recently shot few portions of Akhil and is reportedly going to mix up them with portions of ANR, Nagarjuna and others. This is said to be one of the reasons for delay in its movie release. Apparently, Nag don't want to take chances with Akhil's debut. But after Vikram convinced him of stunning and splashy debut, Nag agreed to bring Akhil on board. We hear it is short and sweet debut of Jr Nagarjuna. The family entertainer, which also features Shriya Saran, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is likely to hit the screens in May during summer holidays. Akkineni fans are hoping that this would be the best summer treat from their stars as this film is also marked for legendary ANR's last film in the annals of history. Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna says he wants "Manam", last film of his late father Telugu movie icon Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who was more than just a father to him, to be a befitting farewell.
Rao passed away Jan 22 due to intestinal cancer. He was 89-years old. "I want his last film 'Manam' to be a befitting send-off to a man who was much more than just a father to me. He was on the sets of the film when he collapsed (last year). When they opened him up he was in the fifth stage of cancer.
Until then he was in the pink of health," read a post from Nagarjuna on his official Facebook page. Nageswara Rao had completed all the shooting but for one song. "The film spans a period from 1920 to 2013. My father plays a 90-year old. Except that incomplete song he completed all the shooting," he posted.
"Fifteen days after surgery he was at home in bed when he said, 'Bring all the dubbing equipment and do my dubbing for 'Manam' before I get worse, or you will get a mimicry artiste to do my dubbing. He made sure we he completed the film.
It's now being released on March 31st," Nagarjuna further posted. Directed by Vikram Kumar, "Manam" also features Nagarjuna and his son Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. It's the first time actors from three generations of Akkineni clan worked together.

The recent demise of Akkineni Nageswara Rao has left a vacuum in many hearts and especially in his family. And now the time has come to talk about some practical issues post his death. Well, the talk has been making rounds in filmnagar about ANR’s huge empire and how he must have shared it.
Well, according to insiders, a big part of ANR’s property has gone to actor Sumanth, his grandson. We are talking about the ANR Trade Centre next to TSR’s home in Banjara Hills. Earlier, this was the residence of ANR but later on, it became a commercial complex. From long time there is a talk that Sumanth is the owner.
Now after ANR’s demise the truth is that it is indeed Sumanth’s property. Sources say ANR had major affinity towards Sumanth and his sister Supriya. The thespian brought them up from childhood so in properties also he worked out a lot for them.
Incidentally, Sumanth-Supriya lost their mother during their early years. Though Sumanth is a grandson, ANR was reportedly affectionate towards him like a son and same with Supriya.

Legendary actor and producer Akkineni Nageswara Rao finally left the whole of Telugu people in permanent distress. He succumbed to cancer, casting clouds of sorrow over Telugu film industry. The 90 year old actor himself announced last year October about his cancer and expressed confidence that it will not spread fast during old age. But fate got something else in store for the Akkineni legend and it has finally spread its claws and spit its venom to take him away from this world.
Born on 20th September 1923, Akkineni started his life in paddy fields and strode into theatre, then into movies and carved a name for himself in golden letters across the history of Tollywood. His 75 year old cinema career started in 1941, at the age of 17, when he made his debut with Telugu film 'Dharmapatni'. ANR married Annapurna in 1953, after whom his production house and studio is named, and the couple have five children. She breathed her last in 2011, leaving the legendary actor much depressed. Their children include Venkat, Nagarjuna, Satyavathi, Naga Suseela and Saroja.Akkineni is a cinema library who starred in 250+ movies till date in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, while 'Manam' is his last flick. There is no question of any role he hasn't played in his illustrious career. A prince, lover boy, depressed lover, government servant, soldier, holy saint and any mythological role, ANR excelled with ease and proved that there is no second best to him. Art lovers and critics love Nageswara Rao because he played on-screen roles of cultural icons of different regions of India. Literally, Akkineni is the one who first initiated Telugu cinema industry to move to Hyderabad from Madras, thus creating separate identity for Telugu movies. He happens to be the torch-bearer of new age Telugu cinema.Awards are not a big thing before this legacy he achieved, but yes they should be mentioned. He is the recipient of Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. ANR won prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award in 1991, and also won 4 Filmfares, 2 Nandi awards, 2 Nandi special honours, and Kalaimamani (Tamilnadu), Kalidasu (Malayalam) state awards.While revealing about his cancer earlier, ANR said 'Life is funny, now comes a twist'. His death is the permanent twist the actor has given to every cinema lover anyway. Deepest condolences to his family and every fan who will miss him forever. May his soul rest in peace!!!
