Pawan to Meet Chandra Babu Today. What's Up?

Finally, D-day has come. Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan is going to meet TDP Supremo Chandra Babu Naidu in Hyderabad within few hours. Both Pawan and Babu are going to held deliberations on Narendra Modi's visit to Hyderabad Tomorrow and his public meeting in L.B Nagar Stadium the same day. Top sources in the know revealed that Pawan and Babu are going to finalize an action plan for TDP-BJP campaigning in Telangana, Seemandhra. "Both are going to discuss on various political issues, happenings in Seemandhra, Telangana. Yes, they're figuring out solutions to few internal problems within both TDP, BJP about the alliance. The main agenda of Pawan and Babu is to make Modi's meet a grand success," shared a TDP top leader. And yes, as reported earlier, Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu Naidu are going to share dais with Modi Tomorrow.

Ever since Pawan Kalyan floated his own outfit Jana Sena Party, there have been wide speculations about Pawan's support to TDP. Although Pawan has tight lipped about it and maintained his support to Narendra Modi's Prime Ministerial candidate, media reports were rife that Pawan is inclined towards Chandra Babu's administration in State. BJP stitching an alliance with TDP in both Seemandhra and Telangana has added fuel to those reports. Reports even surfaced that Pawan has met Babu couple of times. Yet there is no statement on it from both parties.

With none other than two Titans Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu going to meet now, it garnered much significance. We have to see whether Pawan makes an open statement in support of TDP, Chandra Babu. If so, definitely, it will be big boost to TDP ahead of elections. Already, all opinion polls predicted a clear edge for TDP-BJP. However, TDP-BJP are taking this elections as prestigious. As of now, all eyes are on Pawan Kalyan-Chandra Babu Naidu's meet.

Padma Shri Row: Relief to Mohan Babu

In a minor relief to Dr Mohan Babu, Supreme Court on Thursday imposed stay on Andhra Pradesh High Court's order to Mohan Babu to return the Padma Shri title to government. The Apex court has asked the prosecution to file a petition on the issue. However, Supreme Court maintained that from now onwards, every Padma Awardee must be cautious and not to misuse the honorary award.

It may be recalled that BJP senior leader Indra Sena Reddy has filed a petition in AP High Court complaining that Mohan Babu "misused" Padma Award title by using it in film credits of Denikaina Ready. Acting on the complaint, HC asked both Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam to return their Padma Shri to government. However, Brahmanandam agreed to apologize and not to repeat the act. Mohan Babu moved Supreme Court over the matter. As of now, the matter is sub judice as SC is dealing the case.

Reject anti-communal violence Bill, Narendra Modi writes to chief ministers

Narendra Modi has written to Chief Ministers urging them to oppose the Centre's Bill to check communal violence, on a day the Prime Minister rebutted his criticism and asserted that the proposed law was not a "vote-catching gimmick."

"It is important for all chief ministers to rise beyond political affiliations and come together to oppose the Bill, which is nothing but a blatant attempt by the Centre to interfere with the powers of state governments," Mr Modi, who is running for Prime Minister, appealed to chief ministers including Maharashtra's Prithivraj Chavan, who belongs to the Congress.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh defended the Bill, saying it would "help control aberrations created by communal strife."

Dr Singh was reacting to the Gujarat Chief Minister's letter to him, which described the Bill as a "recipe for disaster". Mr Modi's BJP alleges that the Bill is being rushed by a government motivated by vote-bank politics ahead of the national election due by May.

A revised version of the bill, circulated among parties, no longer assumes that only a member of a minority group can be the victim of communal violence, a provision that the BJP had opposed strongly, saying it was biased against one community.

The Bill had been opposed by states who called it an infringement on their rights, as it allows the Centre to directly intervene in riot-hit areas. Many regional parties say even the new version of the Bill impedes the right of state governments to maintain law and order.

After Jayalalithaa, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Mr Modi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also written to the Prime Minister opposing the anti-communal violence Bill.

The government plans to introduce the Bill in this session of parliament, which ends on December 20 and is seen as the last window to push through important legislation before the general election.
