Mahesh Babu Flop alerts Jr NTR!

Few days ago a press note has been sent from producer BVSN Prasad stating that Jr NTR's next film under Sukumar direction will be launched in April. When news circles started speculating that this project has been canceled due to dismal performance of Sukumar's 1 Nenokkadine, this press note was sent to put an end to those speculations.

However, as per latest news from film nagar sources, the speculations turned out to be true as NTR is apprehensive about doing his next with Sukumar. The director earned bad name for escalating the budget and taking so long to wrap up a film. Therefore NTR is not in a mood to experiment with Sukumar right now.
 
There is another news floating around that Sukumar asked for one year time to prepare subject for NTR and hence this film is postponed indefinitely. If everything falls in place this project may start in 2015, sources said. One thing is pretty clear at this point. NTR is not going to do Sukumar's film as his next. Meanwhile his current film Joru (earlier Rabhasa) is expected to release in July.

Mahesh Babu keen to work with Sukumar again

Superstar Mahesh Babu, who teamed up with filmmaker B. Sukumar in recently released Telugu psychological thriller "1: Nenokkadine", has expressed his eagerness to work with the latter in future.

"1: Nenokkadine", which released Friday, opened to mixed reviews and failed to register a bumper opening.

"After the release of the film, he sent me an SMS asking when we can start working on the next project. I'm glad he enjoyed with me and I'm also looking forward to work again. But right now I don't have a script to team up, but I may when the right time comes," Sukumar told IANS.

Mahesh Babu said "1: Nenokkadine" will be his most memorable film.

"'1' will remain as one of the most memorable films I've ever done. Take a bow Sukumar and the entire team of '1'," posted Mahesh Babu recently on his Twitter page.

Produced by 14 Reels Entertainment, the film features debutant Kriti Shanon, Nassar, Sayaji Shinde, Pradeep Rawat, Kelly Dorjee, Vikram Singh and Posani Krishna Murali in important roles.

Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu has teamed up with filmmaker Srinu Vaitla for the second time in "Aagadu".

Nenokkadine and Yevadu: Box Office Collections

Though ‘Yevadu’ released a couple of days after Mahesh Babu’s ‘1 – Nenokkadine’, it seems to have caught up and is showing a lot of promise.

Though both films fall under the same genre, “Revenge Drama”, Yevadu seems to be more viewer friendly with the right mix of commercial elements.

‘1-Nenokkadine’ took off to a flying start in USA pushing aside the dominance of ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Dedh Ishqiya’. 

1-Nenokkadine:
It looks like Mahesh Babu's Nenokkadine is not cutting it with the audiences. After failing to live up to the pre-release expectations the collections of the movie have slackened all over the state. Sources in the trade circles aver that the film has managed to gross just Rs 14.90 crores in collections over the festive weekend.

Budget: 70 Cr

Screened in: 1650 screens worldwide

Yevadu
Despite opening to a mixed response from the audience and the critics looks like Ram Charan's Yevadu is doing good business at the BO. The film has grossed a share of Rs 17.33 crore in theatrical collections from all over the state.

The movie has been getting a great response from the B and C centers all over Andhra Pradesh. Sources state that the film has received a great response in Karnataka as well.

Budget: around 50 Cr

Screen Talk: '1' Man Show

Last year, during the Sankranti season, Mahesh and Ram Charan fought it out at the box office. 

Both of them gave hits and set the cash registers ringing. This year too, both of them have films lined up for release. But the situation is likely to be totally different, say observers. 

Film Nagar insiders feel that it is likely that it is going to be a ‘1’ man show this festive season. 

Apparently, the Censor report too says leans towards 1. 

Trade analysts feel that Mahesh will take on the box office single handedly this year.

Yevadu has been postponed for a very long time and this has adversely impacted the film. 

Also, music by Devi Sri Prasad is a minus. Though the makers are trying their best to salvage the film with promotions, it is not helping much as Mahesh’s image and the craze for ‘1’ is huge. 

The impact of Thoofan is also likely to affect the fate of Yevadu. 

However, mega fans are hopeful that Yevadu will overcome these hurdles and do good business. 

It will soon be out as who the hero is for this Sankranti!
