Trade Report: Anamika, Kotha Janta, Race Gurram

1. Unarguably, Sekhar Kammula became a brand of his own but it didn't help him much for his latest offing. Lukewarm response for his directorial "Anamika', have left distributors dumbfounded. "Sekhar has always got great openings for his movies post Happy Days since he became a noted urban-centric filmmaker with good following among educated and working class, youth and family audience, but this wrong choice to remake a Hindi film, has robbed of his openings too" says a distributor, who is even shocked with the dampening openings in overseas. "Just name of Sekhar would fetch Rs 1.5 to 2 crore in overseas since he has created a fan following among Non-Resident Telugus but this film had no takers and just clocked 15 lakh on day one" he adds. Whereas, in AP, it couldn't garner more than 30 lakh on day one and raising the questions 'Where have Sekar's fans have vanished".

2. After disastrous "Gouravam", Allu Sirish gets a breather as he received positive response for his performance in "kotha Janta" but film hasn't opened big, despite director Maruthi. The new-age love story opened to 40 lakh all over the state and it could pick up, riding on good reviews and mouth-talk and we have to wait and see, before declaring that Sirish has arrived or not, since his sibling film "Race Guram" is still rocking the box office. 

3. "Race Gurram", It is doing good business, despite new releases and crossed 13 crore mark in Nizam and doing well in major centers in other places in Andhra and managed to cross 41-crores net collections and still counting.

4. Nara Rohit's surprise package "Prathinidhi" is doing well comparatively with Chandama Kathalu. The film is doing well in B and C centres. Given that this is election season, the film struck a chord with a section of people. Prathinidhi's success is expected to put Nara Rohit back on track. 

5. Unfortunately, path-breaking film "Chandamam Kathalu", is yet to pick up and director Pravin Sattaru would be disappointed with such lukewarm collections, since his earlier film "Routine Love Story" had comparatively better openings.

Race Gurram is the biggest hit in Bunny's career

Julayi is currently the biggest hit in Allu Arjun’s career. It has collected over Rs. 40 crore share and proved Allu Arjun’s mettle as a star.  Iddarammayilatho failed to make it to 40 crore club despite opening big. Bunny is now coming as Race Gurram after almost a year since Iddarammayilatho hit the screens.  

 Surender Reddy who suffered a failure with his previous film Oosaravelli, is back to Kick mode with Race Gurram.  He says that this film is an out and out family entertainer that has elements to appeal to all sections of audience.Surender is pretty confident about the result of Race Gurram. 

 Surender is pretty relaxed and is not worrying about the result as he believes that this film will do wonders at the box office.  Surender said that Race Gurram will surely surpass all the previous records of Allu Arjun’s films. “My gut feeling is that Race Gurram will become the biggest hit of Allu Arjun’s career so far,” Surender said while speaking to Great Andhra correspondent.

Race Gurram lags behind in Race!!

Apart from getting Censored with a U/A certificate, the first and final copy of Stylish Star Allu Arjun's latest flick Race Gurram is ready. And for people who don't know the film's status, this stylish action flick will hit screens on April 11 i.e., on coming Friday.
 
One wonders why there is no promotion of Race Gurram anywhere. Other than the fact that the audio of the flick scored by Thaman was released a couple of weeks back, there is no teaser or trailer being played on television sets. As the date is confirmed to April 11, there is hardly four days to promote the movie. Of course, all big stars think easy about promotions as they know that posters and print-ads will make fans run to theatres. But that will not ensure big collections on day one unless there is huge hype surround the flick. If the makers want Race Gurram to race against all big movies when it comes to records on day one, this is not the speed they would travel with.
 
Race Gurram is being directed by Surender Reddy who is making all ends meet to deliver his first blockbuster for the Mega camp. Shruti Haasan is putting the best of her glamorous efforts to make the flick look spicy, while Thaman has partially impressed fans with his songs.

Allu Arjun, Gopichand and Dil Raju film confirmed

Allu Arjun is currently busy in wrapping up Race Gurram, which is expected to release in February next year. Arjun's next is under Trivikram direction and that will start rolling from January. Meanwhile Allu Arjun has reportedly okayed another project. Director Gopichand Malineni will direct Allu Arjun soon.

Gopichand and Arjun film is on cards for a while. This film was supposed to go to sets right after Race Gurram. But Trivikram's film came in between and Gopichand's movie has been pushed a little. However, Allu Arjun has recently listened to the script of this film and waved green to Gopichand.

This film is expected to start rolling from summer and it may hit the screens for next pongal. Allu Arjun will have two releases this year. Race Gurram is coming in February and Trivikram's film will be out in Dussera season. Dil Raju is producing Allu Arjun, Gopichand Malineni film. This is going to be third film for Bunny on Dil Raju's banner after Arya and Parugu. He did a cameo in Yevadu too.

Nithin Teams Up With Surender Reddy

 
Nithin has Courier Boy Kalyan lined up for release and is busy finishing Puri Jagannadh-directed film Heart Attack. The film is set to have a January release.

The latest gossip in tinsel ville is that Nithin is likely to do a film with Kick director Surender Reddy who is presently busy with Allu Arjun’s Race Gurram.

Once they both finish their respective projects, they might chalk out a plan for their film.

Meanwhile, Nithin is doing a movie with Karunakaran. Once he wraps up the shoot of Heart Attack, he will start shooting for this film.

Indeed, looks like Nithin is bent on cashing in on the success of Ishq and Gunde Jaari Gallantayyinde.

What Is Happening With Allu Arjun?

Since the release of Iddarammayilatho, there is no news of stylish star Allu Arjun except the actor giving relief to his fans through the commercials of a cell-phone selling outlet. One wonders what is actually happening with him and here goes an interesting update.

After dilly-dallying for a while, Allu Arjun has finally started working on director Surender Reddy's project that is tentatively titled 'Race Gurram'. Though there is no official news about this project, now and then we are hearing about it through some leaks. Latest update is that the shooting of Race Gurram will be wrapped up in a couple of weeks. The unit is right now filming key action sequences related to climax at Jedcherla. Including Bunny, main villain Ravi Kishan and comedy king Brahmanandam are taking part in this shoot. Sources say that the film will release either in February or after March.

Also, Bunny hasn't confirmed the news of his wife's pregnancy, but they say he is spending lot of time with her taking all the care. For now, that's all about Stylish Star folks!
