NTR corporate 50 crore deal?

Industry source claims that- after tasting massive success with 'Atharintiki Daaredi'- top corporate house Reliance is trying to woo another superstar NTR by striking a 50-crore deal which is expected to be clinched very soon.

Although, the remuneration of NTR is yet to be fixed but they would be doling out 50 crores to produce a big budget flick with Nandamuri star after roping in a top director and actress. After losing money in funded movies like 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu', 'Bhai' a creative team of Reliance has joined the script discussions (almost like a co-producer) and tasted big success with 'Atharintiki Daaredi' and now wants to expand its base in T-town with bigger deals.

Even, one of the richest Indians Mr. Anil Ambani, has invited T-town stars for his house-warming ceremony last year, revealing his intentions to park himself in T-town in a big way. Good for T-town stars

Trade report: Charan scores over Mahesh

Sankranthi season is over and we have a clear winner in Yevadu. Despite releasing with low expectations compared to 1 Nenokkadine and in less theaters, Yevadu managed to overtake the former in first week. Nenokkadine managed to collect a share of Rs. 25 crore worldwide in its first week. Yevadu got 36.5 crores plus first week share worldwide taking it to the second spot in all time best openers.

Attarintiki Daredi is sitting high and firm at the top place with a first week share of Rs. 48 crore. Yevadu would have reached Rs. 40 crore mark if it was released in more theaters. Despite releasing in less number of theaters compared to recent biggies took the box office by storm. 1 Nenokkadine has to collect Rs. 58 crore from the theatricals to breakeven and it looks impossible from this point.

Yevadu on the other hand has high chances to make it to Rs. 50 crore club. We have to wait and see how this film holds in the second week especially in the week days. There are no new releases in this week and audience are left with only Pongal films.

Pawan Mania Vs Mahesh Craze

Gone are the days where a majority chunk of fans are limited to particular hero, and that too there is huge caste based fanism. Trends are changing now, and the aura around Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu stands as better example for that.

Across various castes and religions, these two heroes got huge popularity. What is startling is that, those who are shouting chants of Pawanism are also shouting crazily for Mahesh Babu too. All these hi-tech working class and posh students are immersed in Pawan mania when his flick's release is around the corner. At the same time, they are putting Mahesh's face if Superstar's offering is nearing. This is the latest trend in Tollywood, and there are people who couldn’t be separated as fans of a particular hero. They are supporting 3-4 big heroes whole heartedly, and they are maniacs for Pawan, and crazy followers for Mahesh.

In fact, this trend is helping our big heroes to mint crores in the opening weekend. Only if particular hardcore fans watch, no movie will be able to rake up huge collections. All these collective fans helped Attarintiki Daredi turn industry hit, so it's time One-Nenokkadine now. That is the bottom line.

1-Nenokkadine @ 85 Cr Target Vs 35 Cr Profit

'1-Nenokkadine' is the most awaited flick of the season not just for entertainment sake, for also beating records and for writing new ones. Superstar Mahesh Babu is getting ready to showcase his stamina with the high budgeted flick of his career that is made under Sukumar's direction. But it seems like there are certain benchmarks that the flick should cross to prove its capacity.

Well, let us call 'Eros International' as the producer of this flick as the original makers '14 Reels' have sold it already at a staggering price of 72 crores. The whole budget of this movie is 72 crores now and only a penny more than that will be counted as profit for the Mumbai based Production Company. Firstly, to smash records in Tollywood, '1-Nenokkadine' should beat Pawan's Attarintiki Daredi, the latest crown-holder of Telugu industry. Final figures of AD have already touched 85 crores nearly and counting.

So, Mahesh Babu should cross this mark to become the new industry-hit deliverer of Telugu cinema. But what is unseen here is the profit made by AD for producer BVSN Prasad. Made with a budget of 50 Crores nearly, AD raked in 85 crores meaning there is a profit of nearly 35 crores. Mahesh should then reach 100 Crore club with '1-Nenokkadine' if he wants to give 30+ crores profit to Eros. Can he do that? Will he beat 85+ Crores record or deliver 30+ crores profit? Only time has the answer!

Attarintiki Daredi Collections are Not reachable

Actually, Attarintiki Daredi has become the top grosser, purely on Pawan Kalyan's magic and Trivikram Srinivas crispy publicity and good family added to it, it has become the first big telugu film to cash on the new admissions rates of around 30% to 50% hiked few months ago, and it clearly reflected in its record breaking collections.

Apparently, It becomes the top grosser in the annals of Telugu cinema by virtue of collecting more than Rs. 85 crores-plus (net collections) and still counting in theatrical collections across the world and leaves earlier top blockbusters like Magadheera (65 crores) and Dhookudu (60 crores) and Gabbar Singh (60 crores) far far behind.

A tentative break-up for the collections and new and unprecedented records in Andhra Pradesh and also in overseas and Karanataka and still doing well in some centres.

1. Nizam area- 24 plus crores
2. Andhra region- 30 plus crores including Rs 5 crores plus in Vizag, 4 crores in Guntur and other centers.
3. Ceded region- 13 plus crores
4. Overseas- 12 plus crores
5. Karnataka- 7 plus crores.

So for now, Pawan, is the undisputed Numero Uno star in T-town and it will take many years to break this records, since Pawan took nearly 4 to 5 years to surpass his kin charan's records of Magadheera. Now its turn of Mahesh or Ram Charan or jr NTR to take on this mighty collections. That would be an hectic and daunting task.

Trivikram's Demand: Fifty crores or Sorry folks!

Trivikram is on cloud nine with gigantic success of Attarintiki Daredi. Every superstar wants to work with Trivikram as he is in top form and probably at the peak of his career as director. However, it is not that easy to make a film with Trivikram at the moment. As per sources he is asking for Rs. 12 crore as remuneration now.

Besides that he is asking for a minimum of Rs. 50 crore budget even if the hero is a newcomer or a relatively small star. If the hero is a superstar then the budget estimate will shoot up to Rs. 60 to Rs. 65 crore. Trivikram believes that his films have a market range of over Rs. 50 crore at the moment, says the buzz.

Trivikram is known for making family entertainers, but he always makes sure that the quality of his film is superior to other films. He never compromises on a frame and spends lot on the set up and other minute things. It is okay to spend Rs. 50 crore until the film is a sure shot blockbuster. What if the film fails at the box office? Producer will have to bear the risk of minimum Rs.15 crore.

Undisputed Number one - An analysis

Who is the number one director in Telugu cinema industry now? Most of them would say Rajamouli going by his track record. Although Rajamouli has hundred percent track record and tries to make films of high quality and yearns for taking the Telugu cinema to next level, he makes films at his own pace.

Rajamouli can make one film for two years at the best. This pace is not enough for Telugu film industry where more than hundred films are made every year. Directors of Rajamoul's caliber need to make at least one film every year for the sake of business. Scoring a success is important and also maintaining the pace is equally essential in Tollywood.

Trivikram, who used to take his own time for every film in the past, has changed a lot. He made Julayi and Attarintiki Daredi in less than seven months. Julayi was a super hit and AD is now the new number one hit of Telugu cinema. Trivikram took less than a year for script and making of Attarintiki Daredi. Whereas Rajamouli takes nothing short of two years for each movie. Trivikram also has enviable success percentage. Only Khaleja didn't do well and all the remaining films of his were successful. He has the best track record in overseas region and is on par with any superstar. With Julayi and AD, Trivikram has caught the pulse of Telugu masses and there is no stopping him if he continues to entertain us in this fashion.
