Who's eligible for The Best Entertainer Crown ?

The meteoric rise of director Trivikram Srinivas with two back-to-back hits 'Julayi' and 'Atharintiki..' could give some sleepless nights to SS Rajamouli and Srinu Vytla who are holding the top position in T-town with a series of blockbusters and also necessitate a debate, that who is the best entertainer among three most popular dream merchants.

Even though, T-town witnessed the emergence of some gen x directors, like Vamsi Paidipally, Harish Shankar, Sampath Nandi, Boyapati Srinu and Maruthi who showed few sparks but they need to deliver more hits, to lay claim for the top slot. So, lets see, on whom the crown of best entertainer sits pretty well. No doubt, Rajamouli stands taller among all directors, by exploring various genres like socio-fantasies like Magadheera and Eega, sports-centric movie (sye) and a laugh-riot (Maryada rammana) and now sets out to make a historical film 'Baahuballi', to have definite edge over his rivals, with his creative genius, whereas, Trivikram is not far behind in success rate, but one thing for sure, he likes to play if safe and doesn't take up novel plots or genres and likes to work around simple plots, but heavily relies on his inherent strength 'flair for comedy' and comes up with very powerful punch lines, to keep audience entertained. Giving these two a stiff completion- is Srinu Vytla, the master of humour-driven films like 'Dhookudu', 'Baadshah' who sometimes overlooks 'logic' and like to etch out lot of humour and accodomates loads of comedy characters into his script, (particularly Brahmanandam), but assures laugh-a-minute.

Even though, threesome have preferences over picking up 'plots' but they mostly rely on song-& dance routine, separate comedy tracks and other so-called ingredients, to engage audience for 3 hours. All of them can design powerful roles for stars and Rajamouli showed it with hits like 'Yamadonga' ( NTR), 'Chatrapathi (Prabhas) but later began to work with lesser known actors like Sunil, before returning to star-driven film 'Baahubali'. Whereas, Trivikram began the other way round, as he scored a hit with young actor Tarun (Nuvve Nuvve), before moving to the big league of stars Mahesh babu(Athadu), Pawan Kalyan (Jalsa) and Mahesh (Khaleja) but couldn't deliver hit with Chiranjeevi in 'Jai Chiranjeeva', since too much comedy on a big star, backfires at times, without a plot, that justifies their superstardom. Even Srinu Vytla, flip flopped with stars like Chiranjeevi (Andarivadu), but found his winning streak with Ravi Teja (Venky) flamboyance and then tastes sucess with Mahesh (Dookudu) and NTR. So he has developed a brand of his own for 'entertainment' and many directors are finding it easy to emulate his formula and love to tickle the pink bones of the viewers.

Whereas, Rajamouli graph has been almost steady for the last decade, but Trivikram became a comeback specialist since he had big flops inbetween to dent his progress, whereas Srinu's also had non money-spinners like 'Namo Venkatesa' but reached the top with one solid hit 'Dhookudu'. All of them capable of handling big stars and can inspire big stars to put in some good performance, as all of them are considered tough task masters. All of them draw inspiration from Hollywood movies like Eega (coackroach), Magadheera (Troy, Braveheart) and Julayi was inspired by 'Italian Job' and Srinu's 'Dhookudu' was rip off of 'Good Bye Lenin' but they are good re-working on these hired themes and make it believable, by sketching boy-next-door protoganists and their simplicity and good-heartedness eclipses the unbelievability factor, in hero's task accomplishment.

In terms of versality, Rajamouli leads the pack, but Trivikram and Srinu are easy to emulate and discovered the formula for success in T-town humuor-ridden star movies- and don't mind overlooking 'logic; to create magic, whereas Rajamouli is a stickler for perfection and doesn't like to compromise easily. So for now, Rajamouli, is entitled for the crown, but Trivikram-Srinu could also stake claim, by trying some different genres and catapult T-town to a different level and break the notion, that T-town can deliver only 'no brainer' stuff.

Prabhas Getting Ready To Beat Pawan Kalyan?

The domination of the mega heroes continues at the Tollywood box office and after being in the number one position for a long time, Ram Charan’s ‘Magadheera’ made way for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Attarintiki Daredi’.  But the industry talk is that this record is not going to be there for long.

The reason for that is Prabhas and his magnum opus ‘Bahubali’.  The film itself is being made at a budget of Rs 100 crores so one can imagine at what range it will have its collections.  For that matter ‘AD’ was made in 50 crores and it touched nearly 85 crores. But the way things are happening, it looks like Prabhas is getting ready to beat Pawan.

Bahubali’ is scheduled for a release in 2015 and that would mean Pawan will have two more releases in that window.  So, if Pawan’s new ventures can get past ‘AD’ even then ‘Bahubali’ is expected to sweep all the records and create a new one.

In that case, the new number one hero for Tollywood in 2015 is going to be Prabhas and no one else. Let us see what happens.

'Bahubali-1' Overseas Rights @ Rs 10 Crore

This proves to be the heights of expectation. It is known that SS Rajamouli is making mega budget venture ‘Bahubali’ in two parts.  As per the sources from US trade circles, Rajamouli camp is quoting Rs 10 Cr for the overseas rights of ‘Bahubali’ (Part-1).

And it is obvious that the price will be separate for ‘Bahubali-2’ that comes in a one month gap. It is clearly the of ‘Rakta Charitra’ set by Ram Gopal Varma that is being followed by Rajamouli.

Well, but how many US exhibitors show interest to buy the first part and second part at such huge prices and release, is the biggest question.  Amidst piracy where the HD quality print comes online within 3 days of release, will US Telugus come to theatres in such a number to make distributors recover Rs 10 Cr? And it takes two more years to see the film on screen.

If the overseas distributors jump ahead and purchase the film with their enthusiasm, then they may also have to bear the interest rates till film hits the screen.  Keeping all these in mind, overseas distributors are in silence as of now.

Tollywood's Number 1 Heroine Is...

Just like the race between heroes, even the race between heroines for the number one slot is very high.  But now it is being delcraed unanimously that the queen for Tollywood is none other than Anushka.

The filmnagar folks say it is not just about the selection of cinema but also her selection which makes her the best. Though there are the younger and contemporary starlets like Kajal, Tamannah, Ileana and Taapsee.

At one point, many expected Tamannah to strike it big and take the number 1 spot but even she also fell behind.  For now, Samantha is going good but even she would be getting sidelined by Anushka.

The reason for that is the two films that Anushka is doing right now.  One is the two hundred crore project ‘Bahubali’ followed by the historical magnum opus ‘Rudramadevi’.  That way, it is not just in beauty but also in name and fame Anushka has achieved a special place for herself.

Baahubali Making Video Is Not a Copy

The big news that is doing rounds in social circles is that 'Baahubali' making video is a rip of something available on internet. But truth is not something so much complete to think negative about that making-video, but it is quite simple.

In fact the concept of making video happens to be a purchased theme from popular motion graphics source provider 'Videohive'. Actually anyone can visit that site to purchase the video themes, but what needs is an expertise of video editing and working with motion graphics in software like Adobe After Effects. Even Baahubali making-video team led by Rajamouli's son Karthikeya might have visited the same website and felt that one particular theme will suit their needs. So, they have incorporated their stuff into that ready-to-modify theme and added original background score. So, there is nothing like copying here, but it is a matter of selecting and purchasing a graphics video and modifying it.

For your information, many Telugu movie initial credits ideas are something purchased from the website 'videohive.net' and modified according to the needs. So, don't worry Baahubali fans, we know what plagiarism is and what is not!

Prabhas In Two Different Getups at Bahubali

Darling Prabhas celebrated his birthday recently and as a gift to his fans, he was seen with a video on the making of his movie ‘Bahubali’.

Given the size of the project, Prabhas will be off the screen for nearly one and half hour.  Now, discussions are also happening on the size of Prabhas himself for the film.

Apparently, the young rebel star is doing a double role of father and son in the film and each role would be seen in each part since ‘Bahubali’ is being made in two parts.

Now, another update has arrived. It is heard that in one role he would be seen with moderate muscle and slightly muscular physique. But the other role is to be watched out since Prabhas would be seen with bulk muscle and a beefed up physique which is already scaring many.

It is heard that this is the reason why so much time and duration is being taken for the movie. With director S S Rajamouli leading from the front, it would be a delight to watch the two versions of Prabhas.

Telugu Angelina Jolie's First Instalment - Anushka Shetty

                                   Telugu Angelina Jolie's First Instalment

Anushka Shetty, the tall and curvaceous Mangalore lady is no more a glamorous heroine in south tinsel towns. Time and again, she proved her mettle with action characters and now she is ending up as Angelina Jolie of Telugu industry with some continuous action-packed roles in a line.

Angelina is not new to Telugu folks, after all they all have grown up watching her Lara Croft movies, Wanted chases and Salt punches. Of late, Anushka is also evolving similarly in Tollywood with her Arundathi fights, Varna blues, Rudramadevi rides and Baahubali charms. That is why they call Anushka as Jolie of Tollywood and it seems like there is no option to imagine in our Mangalore beauty's place. And the big news is that Anushka's latest socio-fantasy flick 'Varna' is hitting screens somewhere in mid-December. Other than playing a regular heroine, our Sweety will be seen as a warrior in a medieval age in this flick.

If Varna is her first instalment, then Rudramadevi will be her second as the film is expected to hit marquee in 2014. And anyway, we have a strong backing in 2015 as Baahbuali will strike screens. So, get ready for Anushka's first instalment for now.
