Yevadu is a hit, but no use!

Only one percent of movies prove to be successful at an average per year. So whoever delivers should be in great demand. Most of the directors will be chased by heroes and directors after they score hits for the same reason. However there is one director that is not very much in demand in spite of delivering the only hit of 2014 till now.

That director is none other than Vamsi Paidipally, who scored a decent hit with Yevadu, which went on to collect a worldwide share of over Rs. 47 crore. Vamsi's past two films Yevadu and Brindavanam were good hits, but he has no takers at the moment. Although Yevadu is a successful film, Vamsi's style of filmmaking and his ideas are not up to date.

Vamsi follows a formulaic template and doesn't try to put a stamp of his own on his movies. There are many directors that follow the same formula and most of the heroes are not keen on working with them unless they are desperate to score a hit. This is the reason why Vamsi is still on the waiting list of many star heroes. He took more than three years to make another movie after Brindavanam and it looks like he will have to wait for long before he signs his next too.

Shruti eyeing on a 'Mega' Hat-trick

Shruthi Haasan was lucky enough to bag Gabbar Singh film while she was running through rough phase in her career. That film's success has turned the cards for Shruthi and she has reached the top league of heroines in Tollywood. She built a career on Gabbar Singh's success and hits like Balupu and Yevadu followed.

Shruti Haasan started off with Pawan Kalyan's film and immediately bagged a film each with Charan and Allu Arjun, the other in form mega heroes. Earlier Tamanna did this feat by doing films with all the three mega heroes. Tamanna failed to score hits with Allu Arjun and Pawan Kalyan though.

Shruti turned out to be lucky mascot for mega heroes. She scored hits with both Pawan and Charan. She is hoping to complete Mega hat-trick by scoring a hit with Allu Arjun's Race Gurram too. In this film she is also crooning for a mass song that goes 'Dum Dum Duppa Duppa'. May be it is time for second round for Mega heroes with Shruti, what say?

Charan joins Rs 15 crore club

With a solid hit "Yevadu" under his sleeve, hotshot Ram Charan Tej has reportedly pocketed Rs.15 crores for his upcoming multi-starrrer tentatively titled as Govindudu Andari Vadele. Producer Bandla Ganesh didn't mind paying fancy price, since he knows that Charan is big crowd puller.

Before him, only Pawan, Mahesh and recently Jr NTR (Joru) have touched this magic figure and now Charan joins the elusive and premium 15 crore club in T-town. Even a disaster like "Toofan" hasn't dented his hard-earned image and his earlier Rs.50 crore hit "Nayak" truly cemented his position in the top-5 league. No doubt, he is inching closer to his babai Pawan and rival Mahesh and so he is choosing the right scripts and projects that would strengthen his 'larger-than-life' image" to enable him to supersede them sooner than later.

Why Ram Charan & NTR delaying?

It can be said that though Jr NTR is senior than Allu Arjun and Bunny is senior than Ram Charan in terms of their tenure as heroes, all three of them are put on the same table in terms of comparison.

Recently a new discussion happened in the filmnagar club between two directors regarding the trio. News is that Bunny is all set to become a proud father and the point was why Charan and Junior are delaying that.

Well, the logic goes that once a young hero becomes a father, the stardom begins to dip down because youth tend to rate him as a grown up man than a youngster.

However, the other director stated that there is no logic like that and quoted the examples of many who are married with kids but enjoyed stardom for a long time.

Anyhow, this is the personal matter of Junior and Ram Charan so better to keep away from all such topics and let both of them plan their family as per their convenience.

Trade report: Charan scores over Mahesh

Sankranthi season is over and we have a clear winner in Yevadu. Despite releasing with low expectations compared to 1 Nenokkadine and in less theaters, Yevadu managed to overtake the former in first week. Nenokkadine managed to collect a share of Rs. 25 crore worldwide in its first week. Yevadu got 36.5 crores plus first week share worldwide taking it to the second spot in all time best openers.

Attarintiki Daredi is sitting high and firm at the top place with a first week share of Rs. 48 crore. Yevadu would have reached Rs. 40 crore mark if it was released in more theaters. Despite releasing in less number of theaters compared to recent biggies took the box office by storm. 1 Nenokkadine has to collect Rs. 58 crore from the theatricals to breakeven and it looks impossible from this point.

Yevadu on the other hand has high chances to make it to Rs. 50 crore club. We have to wait and see how this film holds in the second week especially in the week days. There are no new releases in this week and audience are left with only Pongal films.

Yevadu team's patience and confidence paid off

Ram Charan's Yevadu is doing wonders at the box office taking full advantage of Sankranthi festival. This film is doing miracles in B and C centers in particular. Yevadu is expected to collect Rs. 10 crore share in Ceded and Rs. 6 crore share in Uttarandhra going by the trend.

This film should have been released on July 31st, but has been postponed just two days before release due to United Andhra movement. From then on team Yevadu has been waiting to release this film at right time. Due to constant postponements everyone has doubted about the film's fate and content. There were rumors about fear of failure and reshoots.

But Dil Raju took the gamble of releasing it for Pongal by pitting it against red hot 1 Nenokkadine. That film ended up as a huge disaster and it has enhanced the success of Yevadu to a great extent. Confidently releasing it against 1 Nenokkadine has boosted the success of Yevadu. Holding the release of film for more than five months and taking the gamble of Sankranthi release has made Yevadu successful. In fact this film is doing exceedingly well with respect to its content. Timing of the release is also crucial for a big film and Yevadu is reaping rich benefits out of it.

Nenokkadine and Yevadu: Box Office Collections

Though ‘Yevadu’ released a couple of days after Mahesh Babu’s ‘1 – Nenokkadine’, it seems to have caught up and is showing a lot of promise.
Though both films fall under the same genre, “Revenge Drama”, Yevadu seems to be more viewer friendly with the right mix of commercial elements.
‘1-Nenokkadine’ took off to a flying start in USA pushing aside the dominance of ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Dedh Ishqiya’.

1-Nenokkadine:
It looks like Mahesh Babu's Nenokkadine is not cutting it with the audiences. After failing to live up to the pre-release expectations the collections of the movie have slackened all over the state. Sources in the trade circles aver that the film has managed to gross just Rs 14.90 crores in collections over the festive weekend.
Budget: 70 Cr
Screened in: 1650 screens worldwide

Yevadu
Despite opening to a mixed response from the audience and the critics looks like Ram Charan's Yevadu is doing good business at the BO. The film has grossed a share of Rs 17.33 crore in theatrical collections from all over the state.
The movie has been getting a great response from the B and C centers all over Andhra Pradesh. Sources state that the film has received a great response in Karnataka as well.
Budget: around 50 Cr
Screened in: over 790 screens worldwide

With these flawless dance moves, the young mega hero is piling up expectations on the movie with positive vibes. Also director Vamsi Paidipally should be appreciated for that visual appeal in the song, as it requires lot of money and vision to bring-back memories of Chiru's introduction song with this one.

'One' Vs 'Yevadu': Pre Release Talk

Clearing all the clouds, it is now confirmed that Sankranthi 2014 is going to be very busy at the Tollywood box office.  At the same time, there is also going to be a tough fight between the two big superstars Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan

Their respective films ‘1-Nenokkadine’ and ‘Yevadu’ are releasing on January 10th and 12th respectively.   With this, many have begun digging out to see how best the films are and here is a look at the talk.

In terms of ‘1-Nenokkadine’ the talk is that Screenplay is good and Mahesh-Kriti onscreen chemistry has come out very well. Even the action sequences are being considered first of its kind in Tollywood.

As for ‘Yevadu’ talk is that the storyline is good and the twists in the story will also hook the audience very well.  On a comparative note, the songs of ‘Yevadu’ are getting better response than ‘1-Nenokkadine’.  But overall both films are entering the theatres with good and positive talk.

Yevadu key 'twist' leaked!

Yevadu movie is finally hitting screens on 12th of this month and the team is pretty confident that it will strike right chords with the audience. Recently released theatrical trailer is impressive. It gave an impression that this movie is a full 'package' of all the necessary commercial ingredients.

Yevadu movie runs in a commercial format but has a novel point that 'surprises' the viewers. Although Yevadu team has been safeguarding the secret about the key twists in the story, filmy circles are aware of it. Few websites have also mentioned about the twists in Yevadu.

Surprisingly, team Yevadu has leaked the 'secret' all by themselves. The newly released song teaser of 'Cheliya cheliya' song gives an idea about the plot of the movie. We all know that Kajal is paired up with Allu Arjun in this film. But in this song Ram Charan visualizes Kajal in a pathos mood thus giving a biggest clue about the story of the film. If you haven't guessed it by now then be prepared to be surprised in the theaters.

But this is not an intelligent move by the makers. Never reveal such biggest secrets prior to the release, it kills the wow factor and also lessens the impact of important twists.

Screen Talk: '1' Man Show

Last year, during the Sankranti season, Mahesh and Ram Charan fought it out at the box office.
Both of them gave hits and set the cash registers ringing. This year too, both of them have films lined up for release. But the situation is likely to be totally different, say observers.
Film Nagar insiders feel that it is likely that it is going to be a ‘1’ man show this festive season.
Apparently, the Censor report too says leans towards 1.
Trade analysts feel that Mahesh will take on the box office single handedly this year.
Yevadu has been postponed for a very long time and this has adversely impacted the film.
Also, music by Devi Sri Prasad is a minus. Though the makers are trying their best to salvage the film with promotions, it is not helping much as Mahesh’s image and the craze for ‘1’ is huge.
The impact of Thoofan is also likely to affect the fate of Yevadu.
However, mega fans are hopeful that Yevadu will overcome these hurdles and do good business.
It will soon be out as who the hero is for this Sankranti!

Yevadu May Not Fear That Blackmail

Reportedly some distributors from overseas circuits are heard blackmailing producer Dil Raju to shift 'Yevadu' release date to a later time. They are heard saying that if Yevadu hits screens along with Mahesh Babu's '1-Nenokkadine' there will be shortage of theatres in USA, and also they are talking low about Charan's market stamina.

All these USA distributors are making predictions about Mahesh and Charan's Sankranthi 2014 releases, basing on the outputs of Naayak and Seethamm Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. As SVSC bagged around 8+ crores in US market, and Naayak settled for 2.5+ crores collections, distributors fear that Mahesh will take over the lead again. Though SVSC was a trendsetter at US box office in 2012, Charan got advantage in local market due to the mass-elements and entertainment factor present in his  flick. Cut to the present, what matters the most for 1-Nenokkadine and Yevadu is their entertainment factor. For now, what we could read from the posters and teasers of these two movies is that both have some serious content. So, let us wait for the race to happen to conclude the winner, but we can't straight away say that Mahesh got the edge. Because, both these star heroes have fair share of disasters too in local and overseas box office.

On the flip side, local distributors are preparing for Yevadu on January 9th/10th by giving green signal to producer Dil Raju. They say that these US distributors should fetch theatres at any chance, but shouldn't blackmail producer to postpone the flick from holiday season. It is heard that Dil Raju is on the lookout for new distributor for Yevadu in overseas market.

http://chithralahari2025.blogspot.in/

Yevadu Could Lose Out In the Race

The film has been postponed for the past six months. Now, Yevadu is slotted for a Sankranti release.  But since it is being released alongside Mahesh Babu’s 1-Nenokkadine, industry analysts feel it will face some business problems.
It is a known fact that Mahesh Babu has a lot of craze in the US market. So, releasing Yevadu in competition with ‘1’ is a risky business feel its distributors.  It is heard that the distributors who bought the film’s rights are no longer keen on doing business in the US.  Apparently, a distributor told Dil Raju that it will be difficult for Yevadu to get theatres and to make business if the film is released during Sankranti. But if the film defers the Sankranti release, then it will stand to lose in the state.
Hence, Dil Raju will have to look out for a new distributor or distribute the film himself in the US.  Last year, when Ram Charan’s Nayak released along with Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, it was a huge flop in the US. But the film was a hit here.  Despite positive talk and good reviews, Nayak failed to win over the audience in the US over SVSC. That’s the reason why the buyers in the US are thinking twice before tying up with Yevadu!

Allu Arjun dominates Ram Charan

Ram Charan is undoubtedly bigger star in terms of box office range despite Allu Arjun's seniority. Chiranjeevi's son tag is the biggest asset for Ram Charan and mega fans owns him and ranks him higher than Allu Arjun irrespective of their respective talents. However, Allu Arjun is the biggest star in Kerala than any Telugu star at the moment.

We have seen Ram Charan's movies being promoted as Allu Arjun's cousin's films in Mallu land. Allu Arjun has fan clubs in Kerala state and his fans do lots of hungama for his releases over there. All of his films get dubbed in to Malayalam and does reasonably well. For the same reason Yevadu is also being dubbed in Malayalam and will have simultaneous release in Kerala along with Telugu version.

Although Allu Arjun has done a fifteen minute role in Yevadu, he is being promoted as the hero of Yevadu in Kerala. Allu Arjun is clearly dominating Charan here. And the Malayalam version of Yevadu has been titled 'Bhayya - My Brother'. Doesn't that sound like a spoiler?

Ram Charan Ahead Of Mahesh

Going by the latest buzz, producer ‘Dil’ Raju is planning to release Yevadu on January 9, 2014, just a day before Mahesh Babu’s One-Nenokkadine hits the screens (i.e., on January 10).

Raju, who has been reiterating that the movie would come as per plan on December 19 for a while, seems to have changed his mind now and is apparently switching his plans for grand Sankranthi release.

Incidentally, Ram Charan's Naayak was released on the same date this year and turned out to be a hit and Mahesh's SVSC that released two days after Naayak also became successful.

Dil Raju is confident that same magic would be recreated at the box office during 2014 Sankranthi. He is citing this example to give a picture that both One and Yevadu are going to be hits.

Whatever, Charan and Mahesh are going to slug it out at theatres. So, it’s going to be a clash of Mega fans Vs Ghattamaneni fans.  To know who takes over whom, we need to wait for a while.

'Two' Mega Movies Against 'One'

Superstar Mahesh's 'One' is a sure shot releasing flick for Sankranthi, while Ram Charan's 'Yevadu' is going to be its prime competitor. Though there is no clarity from Dil Raju's side yet, many say that Yevadu will be hitting anywhere between Jan 9th to 12th.

If 'Yevadu' is the first Mega movie that is going to give tough time for 'One', second one is in line is another unpredictable flick. Aspiring hero Sai Dharam Tej's 'Rey' is the one we are talking about. Though director-producer YVS Chowdary is planning to release this flick from last Summer, sources have now confirmed that he is eyeing a Sankrathi release. In that case, within  a week of '1 Nenokkadine' and 'Yevadu' release, 'Rey' will also be hitting screens.

At the first place, it is Superstar Mahesh's 'One' that eyed January 10th, a lonely date, to create wonders at box office. But now two mega heroes are joining the race, and the competition looks interesting folks.

Ram Charan On Bench In 2014!

It appears that the career position of hero Ram Charan is in somewhat tricky position. After his last venture ‘Zanjeer/Thoofan’ became a disaster at the box office, the mega fans and Charan have pinned all their hopes on his new movie ‘Yevadu’ but the film is dangling in mid air not sure of its release date. But here is one talk making rounds. Sources say ‘Yevadu’ is being planned for release in January and this is a strategy developed by producer Allu Aravind.

As being said, during Pongal if it comes okay but at the same time another talk is still on about the film arriving on December 19th, 2013. So, if December it comes then there will be no new release of Charan in 2014. The reason being, it is not sure when Krishna Vamsi will start and complete his new venture with Charan. And if that doesn’t get completed by 2014 then it would mean that Charan will be on bench without any release next year. For now, let us wait to see when ‘Yevadu’ arrives.

Yevadu clocks highest in-film branding

Whether, Ram Charan Tej would set new box office records with his upcoming film 'Yevadu' is still speculative, but he surely established a new record in 'in-film branding' by reportedly garnering Rs. 1.5 crore from a mobile network and surpassed his cousin Allu Arjun's who bagged Rs 1 plus branding for 'Iddarammayilatho'. Suggesting, that even a dud like 'Zanjeer', hasn't dented the popularity of the scion of Chiranjeevi family and attracting big corporates to pump in money, in his movies. No doubt, it has set a big benchmark for in-film branding  in T-town big budget movies, since rarely few films touched the magic figure of Rs. 1 crore, so top Telugu producers, who are spending a lavishly, would heave a sigh of relief since they could recover some money through this 'in-film' endorsements.

Earlier, corporates were reluctant to spend more money since the brands had a 'blink&miss' appearance in big movies, but now director's seems to have resolved to give appropriate screen time for their products to help their producers to pocket some money, since brands also know that star movies would fetch them better visibility, so it's a kind of win-win situation for both the brands and producers. From now onwards, sky is the limit for producers who make films with stars like Mahesh Babu, Pawan and NTR, quite a new beginning indeed.

Yevadu Is Not Alone, It Got Friends

Producer Dil Raju is too intelligent to plan that he will get a creme of weeks at box office, to run his 'Yevadu' without any competition. Featuring Ram Charan and Shruti Haasan, the film is supposed to hit theatres on December 19th without any fail. But all days are not ours.

Though Ram Charan's 'Yevadu' is planned like a solo release in the third week of December, it is becoming a distant dream now. Reports have that Naga Chaitanya's latest movie is also aiming the same time, Dec 20th, for a blazing release at Tollywood box office.  Already Deva Katta directed 'Auto Nagar Surya' trailer got nice reviews from all circles and the film is actually creating expectations now though there is zero hype till now. Anyway, releasing alone and scoring big is not something in the book of Charan as he always got some competitors for him. So, let 'Yevadu' come along with some friends.

Big thing is that, distributors have already made their minds for December 19th release, but the discussions related to T-bill in winter session of Parliament are shaking the positioning of this flick for sure.
