Union Minister Gopinath Munde Dies in Road Accident

Minister Gopinath Munde is no more. He had breathed his last this morning after he was critically injured in a road accident in Delhi on Tuesday morning. 64-year-old Munde succumbed to injuries. He was first admitted to Safdarjung Hospital and then shifted to the AIIMS trauma centre. Sources at the AIIMS say Munde's condition was critical when he was brought in. He was brought to hospital at 6.30 AM and he was declared dead at 8.00 AM. 

The accident happened when Munde was on his way to the Indira Gandhi International airport to fly to Mumbai. It took place when Munde's car was moving from Lodhi Road towards the Aurobindo Chowk when another vehicle has hit his car from back. Doctors say Munde suffered a heart attack after the accident.

Gopinath Munde is the Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation. He had a victory rally scheduled in Beed and Parali. A senior BJP leader from Maharashtra, Gopi was the State BJP president of Maharashtra. Munde served as Deputy CM for Maharashtra. He was brother-in-law of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan. Munde was supposed to lead the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra. In between, he passed away in a fatal road accident. His last rites will be performed in his village Beed Tomorrow. PM Modi has expressed his deep condolences to bereaved family and termed Munde as great Mass Leader.
