Vijayawada-Guntur will be twin cities: Naidu

Union Urban Development Minister-BJP Sr most leader from Seemandhra, Venkaiaha Naidu, has set the record straight that "Vijyawada-Guntur" cities will be made twin cities. Venkaiaha said that the NDA (TDP-BJP Combine) government is committed to develop Seemandhra and their prior focus is on Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project and Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali Metro Rail Project. Venkaiaha Naidu, who took over the charge as Union Minister for Urband Development, Housing Welfare, Urban poor eradication, told media that government is determined to provide Pucca houses to all by 2020. Venkaiaha reiterated Narendra Modi's statement to build 100 smart cities across the nation.

Venkaiaha said that the adjoin, neighbour cities will be connected to these smart cities and develop infrastructure in all the towns, cities. Venkaiaha is expecting that half of the Indian population will shift their base to cities by 2050. Inorder to meet those requirements, needs and development of roads and infrastructure, he said he is going to bring new programme that is going to replace the existing Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), UPA's flagship programme.

Meanwhile, venkaiaha also said that he has plans to expand Delhi Metro Project to Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Venkaiaha Naidu also promised that the neatness, cleanliness is priority in cities. That's Venkaiaha Naidu's first brief to media soon after he took the reigns of Union Urban Development Minister.
